Worcester Wolves have added strength and depth to their roster ahead of the British Wheelchair Basketball Women’s Premier League season opener this weekend.
Kayli English becomes the club’s ninth signing ahead of the game against the Loughborough Lightning on Saturday.
English, who is a 2.0 rated athlete, joins the National League Division 1 Manchester Wolves Mavericks, who she will also represent this season.
Prior to playing for the Mavericks, English also played for the Bolton Bulls, Angels of the North and Lancaster Spinners, gaining a wealth of experience in several league competitions.
Kayli can’t wait to get on the court. She said: “I’m thrilled to be part of this groundbreaking league.
“This team is a great group of women and I can’t wait to play alongside them.”
Worcester Wolves head coach Simon Fisher said: “I am delighted to welcome Kayli to the Wolves team.
“Kayli is a player I watched in my previous role with BWB [British Wheelchair Basketball] as a player with potential.
“His commitment to join Wolves for the Premier League season shows a real desire to continue that development. Kayli will add depth to our squad as well as speed up his rankings. He is an exciting talent, someone I’m delighted to be able to coach this season and beyond.”
Worcester Wolves kick off the new season against Loughborough Lightning at the University of Worcester Arena this Saturday at 1pm. Tickets are still available for the game, and it will also be broadcast live via BBC Sport
