Patrick Beverley is one of the NBA’s top defensemen, having been named twice to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team (2014, 2020) and once to the NBA All-Defensive First Team (2017). Needless to say, he knows a thing or two about the hardest to protect players.
During an Instagram Live session on Friday, Beverley was asked about the toughest players he has had to defend.
Without hesitation, Beverley said Luka Doncic stands above the rest. Point blank, period.

âSo far it’s Luka. Easy, âsaid Beverley. “I’m on her [expletive] this year too, however. I need to get my link back.
Washington Wizards goalie Bradley Beal has also been suggested as someone difficult to defend, but Beverley was quick to dismiss that over Doncic.
âThe thing with Brad is they put him in a lot of downline action and stuff. For me, I just use my strength when it comes to that. [expletive]. This [expletive] really easy to keep, âsaid Beverley. âBut no, he’s tough too. Brad is tough too.
In six games against Beverley, Doncic averaged 26.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.3 assists. He also once said that Beverley was “too [expletive] small âto keep it.
