Jerry West Reveals His All-Time Favorite Basketball Player: Fans React

December 19, 1998: Jerry West attends the Las Vegas shootout between the Arizona Wildcats and the Iowa State Cyclones at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Navada. Arizona defeated Iowa St. 75-61.

Michael Jordan has another legend by his side.

Saturday night, Jerry West attended a Summer League game.

There, he was asked who his favorite basketball player of all time was.

“My favorite player of all time was probably Michael Jordan,” he said. “A lot of other incredible players that I know and have been honestly involved with. But for me, he embodies what I think is great about a basketball player.

“Someone who can play on both sides of the pitch. His teams are winning. In the last quarter he will be there. Most importantly, I love Michael like a brother. You have the chance to spend time with him …he never changes. And that’s why I love him.”

Should we be shocked? Most NBA legends side with Jordan against LeBron.

“Facts!! Lebron can’t win, Magic hasn’t played as much as Jordan and no one can compare to MJ! The real goat!” wrote one fan.

“MJ is the greatest basketball player of all time,” one fan commented.

“The logo is about . I feel sorry for young kids today who never saw MJ play because there was never anyone like him!” wrote one fan.
