Denzel Washington on who is the greatest basketball player of all time: “I was at the Chicago Bulls game…When Michael Jordan made that famous shot, and we went out to dinner that night…”

When it comes to the debate of being considered the greatest player of all time, people usually tend to choose either LeBron James or Michael Jordan. Even among them, the majority of people tend to lean towards Jordan.

After all, MJ has achieved a lot in the NBA. Besides being a winner throughout his career, Mike was as iconic as he could be when he was an active player in the league. He played a huge role in the globalization of the league.

On the other hand, LeBron James is someone who was burdened with the responsibility of being the next big thing even before entering the NBA. It must have been a huge burden on his shoulders and when you take into account that he was just a teenager at the time, it becomes even more impressive.

For the most part, LBJ met those expectations. He won four NBA championships, the last one coming when he donned the Los Angeles Lakers jersey.

When LeBron joined purple and gold, he took the world by storm. His arrival led to many popular Los Angeles personalities being interviewed for their thoughts on James coming to the Lakers.

Among them, none other than the legendary actor Denzel Washington. Denzel made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s show, where he was asked about his thoughts on who is the greatest player of all time. Washington gave a cryptic answer to the question, but it was obvious he believed MJ was the GOAT.

Woah, ah man that’s hard. The best? … I was at the Chicago Bulls game with Spike Lee when Michael Jordan made that famous stunt, I was there. And we went out to dinner that night after. … It was [the greatest] that night, it was that night.”
