Durant’s return from a calf injury on Monday ended in a new problem for the Golden State Warriors star
Basketball star Kevin Durant’s long-awaited return from an injury for the Golden State Warriors was short-lived as he sustained an Achilles tendon injury in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.
Durant, who had been out for a month with a calf problem, made a superb start against the Toronto Raptors but came down tightening his right ankle after planting his foot to the ground in the second quarter.

Durant is assisted by his teammates during the match
The Warriors ace immediately hobbled to the side of the field and grabbed the bottom of his right leg.
He was then aided by teammates Steph Curry and Andre Iguodala as he swore in agony.
âHe was cleared to play tonight; it was a collaborative decision, âWarriors general manager Bob Myers said in an emotional post-game interview.
âI don’t believe there is anyone to blame, but I understand in this world and if you have to you can blame me. I run our basketball operations department.
âTo tell you something about Kevin Durant: Kevin Durant loves playing basketball, and people who wondered if he wanted to come back to this team were wrong. He’s a good teammate, he’s a good person, that’s not fair.
Myers confirmed that Durant is now due to undergo an MRI on Tuesday to assess the significance of the injury.
The Warriors were leading when Durant was injured and continued to win 106-105 to reduce the Raptors’ lead in the top-seven series to 3-2, forcing Game 6 of this year’s Finals.
